With a change of website administrator, and the rise in popularity of WhatsApp and Social Media, it was felt appropriate to request member feedback on the purpose and effectiveness of the club website. Feedback was requested via a simple web form. Responses have been compiled and are shown below for discussion.

- What do you believe is the purpose of the web site?
- What do you like about the existing site?
- Who do you think are the web site’s target audience?
- What improvement does the web site need to better represent Yarm Motorcycle club?
- What changes would make it more inclusive for you personally?
- What, if any, other improvements would you like to see on the web site?
- Are there any other comments you would like to add not covered above?
Web site purpose?
The purpose is:
- To promote the club, act as a reference point for club members, inform on events, club rules etc
- To provide a Blog space for members to share experiences and spread awareness of affiliated businesses and charities
- To act as an advertising space for new members
- To provide contact details for the club
- The web site is a waste of time now as it’s been replaced by Facebook and WhatsApp.

How to better represent YMCC
Member benefits

Photos
- Better organisation.
- Scenic photos from Ride Outs showcasing our beautiful region.
Content should
- be more engaging / interesting / up to date.
- provide a younger focus / more modern look and feel.
- provide more motorcycle related stories.
- provide articles from club night speakers.
- provide what’s on / forthcoming events / club night info / future speakers.
- provide ride out and touring information.
- List of local meet up cafes and pubs should include opening times.
Other Comments
- Can we have a Route Planner.
- Promotion to bike schools about our club can be added with links to schools for promotions.
- Training for members to post content.
- Ensure the web site stats get a mention by the chairman every month.
- Consider an Instagram account as another method of attracting members. It would be a good display board for members to see the photos too.
- The buy and sell page is a waste, there are more efficient specialist sites.
- No one uses web sites anymore.
- Site needs to be smaller.
